Style || My Perspex Studded Clutch – Bargain finding and how I get them!

My current obsession for perspex and acrylic clutches has left me wanting them in every shape, size and colour. So it is no surprise that when I saw this yellow studded perspex clutch I couldn’t resist getting it.

I had seen a similar clutch on Asos.com for £38 (sale price – see picture below) but at the time I saw it, I wasn’t ready to spend such an amount on a little box clutch – all though it’s cute! So when I saw this clutch for £12 in TK-Maxx I didn’t hesitate to pick it up and wait in the long queue just to pay for it. It was designed by love weaves and I love everything about it.

This clutch was a BARGAIN! on it’s own – No doubt; but I’d also tell you one little secret about how I bargain hunt. Before I purchase any item I throughly scan the item to make sure I am not paying for ‘Damaged goods’ as sometimes there might be a missing button which would need replacing, a burst zip, a rip or something wrong with the item that would require a stitch or two or some minor quick fix. When I notice such a fault I make one of two decisions – Look for the same item and leave the damaged one on the clothing rack or go to the till and ask for a discount on the item! – If I know I can fix it up quickly.

If you look at the picture of this clutch below you would notice that one of the hooks I am meant to attached the gold chain to is broken – You probably wouldn’t have noticed if I didn’t point it out and that’s the point. There are some minor ‘damages’ that items have that don’t really matter or affect the item in anyway,  but these damages can get you discounts off the item just because it isn’t in the same condition the retailer intended to sell it.

In this particular case I didn’t get any extra discount on the item as it was already marked down to £12 due to this fault – or so I was told; but you can definitely do this if you really want an item and they don’t have any alternative or you just want to get a bargain. Make-up stains, a bad zip, ripped seam, the faults are endless!

So I hope you found this little secret of mine useful and also love this clutch as much as I do. If you’d like me to reveal more of my bargain hunting tricks then don’t forget to leave a comment below or contact my using my contact form and I’ll get back to you ASAP!

Until next time!
